Activation

The activation screen is displayed the first time you start the Floria App Manager.

 

Please note that the activation process has changed with version 5, introduced in October 2020. If you are using version 4, please follow the guide further down on this page.

 

Activation of App Manager Version 5

 

If your institution already have an activation code, please fill in the activation code and your email address assosiated with your system credentials.

 

First time installation

 

If this is a first time installation for your institution, complete the details and submit an activation request to Botanical Software. We will process your activation request as soon as we can. Please note that this may take up to 24 hours depending on time difference and public holidays.

When the activation request has been processed, you will receive an activation code to be used for the App Manager on the Desktop and Floria Handheld on your smartphones and tablets.

 

Database Connection

 

If you use the Botanical Software cloud database service, we will prepare the database connection for App manager during the activation process.

 

For other users, please follow these steps:

Make sure you have at hand the database connection details for the IrisBG Database. You can either use your existing IrisBG database user or create a dedicated database user for the App Manager with read access. To create a dedicated user, you can follow this guide. For the database connection, you would need:

Server name

Database name

User

Password

 

Finalize

 

Before uploading your first dataset, make sure all relevant app users have their email address filled out in their personnel record.

Please note that the activation process will require that each user have their own email address.

When submitting data you will need to provide IrisBG user credentials. Please ensure that this user has “Update” access to the IrisBG Data Import.

You are now ready to upload your first App Dataset to the Floria App Service.

 

The activation process will use the work email address if this is filled out (alternativly the home email address will be used). Upon receiving the activation code, start the App Manager and upload your first App Dataset to the Floria App Service.

 

You will need one Floria Handheld synchronization licence for each device you are planning to use. You can add more synchronization licences later and move a licence from one device to another in the licences screen.

 

Troubleshooting activation

 

If you have problems activating a device, please check the following:

 

1.Make sure relevant user has first name, last name, and office email or home email address correctly filled out in the personell screen. Verify that the active from/active to dates are still valid.

2.Check that the user has en active entry in the authorization screen.

3.Check that user role assigned to the user has sufficient access to update records. Access control on the App follow the same principle as on the desktop.

4.Finally, after you have made changes to access, make sure a fresh dataset is uploaded to the App Service that includes the latest changes you have made.

 

Deactivation and/or moving license to other device

 

Before deactivation a device, make sure all changes are uploaded and that you have a network connection.

 

If you would like to stop using a device license, navigate to the settings screen on the device and select "Deactivate device license".

If you no longer have access to the device, you can also deactivate the device license from the App Manager.

After a successful deactivtion, you can use the license on another device.

 

Activating the license on the App

 

You can now start the App on a device, select “my garden”, fill in the activation code and email address. You can alternativly activate a device via App Manager by clicking the “activate” button and scan the activation barcode displayed on the screen.

You will receive a pin code via email to be used to login on the App. You can change the pin code in the App settings.

Active licenses are available in the App Manager licences screen where you can assign an “Asset name” and deactivate licenses that are no longer in use.

Activation of App Manager Version 4

 

To be able to login to the App Manager, the user will need "Update" access to the "Inbox".

 

After you have filled out and submitted the necessary details, the activation request will be processed by Botanical Software. You will receive a confirmation email when the activation has been processed which will also include the activation code used to activate the individual devices. Please note that you can also activate a device license from the licences screen by scanning the activation barcode.

 

Before proceeding to activate the individual devices, make sure all relevant app users have their email address filled out in their personnel record in the Desktop Plant Record System. The activation process will use the work email address if this is filled out (alternativly the home email address will be used). Upon receiving the activation code, start the App Manager and upload your first App Dataset to the Floria App Service.

 

You will need one Floria Handheld licence for each device you are planning to use. You can add more licences later and move a licence from one device to another in the licences screen.
